Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah envisioned that the current Controlled Movement Control Order (CMCO) imposed in Selangor, KL and Putrajaya may be extended if numbers continue to rise.

Adding that the numbers have shown a steady rise in the three locations, a proposal of extension is on the cards adding to the current 14-day CMCO which began on 14th October 2020 and is set to end on 27th October 2020.

Speaking during his daily press conference, Dr Noor Hisham said, “If it continues to increase, we may propose an extension of the CMCO.”

“But if there is no increase in cases in a week, then there may not be a need for an extension. We are monitoring the situation closely.”

Based on yesterday’s Covid-19 update from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, there are 1228 new cases (24 October), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 25,742. From those numbers, a total of 16,555 patients have recovered and been discharged, including today’s 671 patients.

Stay tuned for more updates.
