Previously, Malaysians who have returned home from overseas will have to be quarantined in hotels even if they test negative for Covid-19. This however, will change starting 10 June after Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that the policy will change in his special address today. He said, as reported by Bernama,

Once they are at the airport, they will undergo a swab test, for those who tested positive, they will immediately be sent to the hospital for treatment while the negative ones will be allowed to undergo mandatory quarantine procedures at their homes.”

Those who will be quarantined at home are required to download the MySejahtera app and to also wear their quarantine bracelets to facilitate the identification process. As the number of new cases is low, it is time to channel the resources previously used to pay for the hotels to other means in our Covid-19 fight.

Hopefully, those who are going to be quarantined at home after this will follow the given instruction to the tee!
