In an announcement on their official social media pages, RapidKL announced that its MRT service was experiencing disruptions from its Pusat Bandar Damansara to its Phileo Damansara stations. An excerpt from their announcement reads,
“We are experiencing a track intrusion near Pusat Bandar Damansara to Phileo Damansara. Power de-energised for safety reasons. Follow for updates.”
Some passengers also commented that they were experiencing delays earlier this morning (23rd January), saying that they had to get down at specific stations and take shuttle buses to their respective destinations. Others stated on social media that they were stuck at different stations, waiting for services to run again.
It was later revealed that the MRT service disruption was due to a reported attempted cable theft at one of the line’s tracks. A photo of the suspected cable thief being apprehended by MRT auxiliary police was later uploaded on RapidKL’s Twitter and Facebook accounts in a follow-up to their previous announcement.
