Since 2023, FUJIFILM Malaysia has stood in solidarity with Breast Cancer Awareness Month by sponsoring a series of free mammogram screenings every single year. This year, those free screenings are being offered at Pantai Hospital Cheras, with a specific focus on giving women from the B40 community a leg up, as many of them might otherwise never get the chance to go for a screening.

Why this matters more than you think
FUJIFILM Malaysia’s message each year is clear: By the time you feel a lump, the cancer may already have had time to grow. Nearly half of breast cancer patients in Malaysia are diagnosed at late stages, including Stage 3 or 4. Late-stage diagnosis not only makes treatment harder, but it will also be more expensive and have lower success rates.
With all this in mind, the goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month should go beyond teaching that breast cancer exists; it should also be to close the gap between knowing and acting. And by sponsoring at least 100 free screenings annually for the B40 community, FUJIFILM Malaysia is walking the talk this October.
