KTM Komuter faced delays on January 28 when a group of men trespassed onto the railway tracks between Teluk Pulai and Klang, causing the train to stop mid-journey.

The 200 passengers on board were guided by KTMB staff and auxiliary police to Klang Station, where free shuttle buses were arranged to take them to Subang Jaya Station.

They were struck by the train

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) revealed in a statement that service delays occurred after 5 men trespassed onto the railway tracks and collided with a train, with one tragically losing his life.

The train was damaged in the incident, causing over an hour of delays. Relief locomotives were dispatched to tow the train and remove the body, allowing the tracks to be cleared and services to return to normal.

Passengers affected by the delays were provided free shuttle buses to Subang Jaya Station to continue their journey.

Trespassing on railway tracks can lead to a fine

KTMB’s Chief Operating Officer, Mohd Zain Mat Taha, reminded everyone that railway tracks are off-limits, and trespassing could result in a RM500 fine under Section 126 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010.

In this incident, 1 man tragically died on the spot, while 4 others suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. An investigation into the case is currently underway by the authorities.

“For any help, passengers can reach out to the station staff on duty. Updates will be shared through KTMB’s official social media or by calling the Call Center at 03-9779 1200,” the statement added.
