A Standard 4 student was found unconscious in a toilet cubicle at his primary school in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, yesterday (1 October) and was subsequently pronounced dead.
Unfortunately, this means that the school experienced 2 deaths within a week, as a Standard 3 student was killed after falling into a sewage pit during a sporting event at the school on Saturday (27 September), according to China Press.

BERNAMA quoted Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad as saying that a report on the incident was received at 1:19 PM yesterday. The Standard 4 pupil was found unconscious in the school toilet and was later pronounced dead at a private medical centre.
“The victim was rushed to the medical centre by the school’s disciplinary teacher, but was later confirmed dead by the attending doctor,” revealed Alzafny in a statement.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the boy was found unconscious in the school toilet before being rushed to the medical centre for treatment.
A post-mortem will be conducted at Rembau Hospital later today to determine the cause of death. The case is being investigated under Section 507C of the Penal Code.
Allow the authorities to investigate, do not speculate
Following this, Fadhlina Sidek also took to her Facebook page to share her and the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) statements, addressing this issue.

She wrote, “My condolences to the family of the student involved in the accident at a school in Negeri Sembilan yesterday. This incident is currently under investigation by the police. I assure you that the MOE is committed to providing full cooperation to the ongoing investigation process.”
“The public is advised not to speculate and to respect the privacy of the student’s family at this time. MOE has activated psychological support interventions in crisis situations to ensure the well-being of students, teachers and all school staff.”
MOE’s statement echoed Fadhlina’s, though adding that they have activated psychological support intervention for crisis situations.
