A family of 4, including a teenager, was accused of stealing at a supermarket in Negeri Sembilan recently, and a woman who confronted them recorded the scene, which was posted online.

The teenager, who was carrying his younger sister, was stopped by one of the store’s employees, who then asked to check his bag, where packs of snacks were found. A woman, believed to be the mother of the teenager, came forward and pleaded to let them go.

“If you know your son is guilty, then you shouldn’t have asked to let him go,” the employer told the woman.

One of the security guards watched the teenager and made sure he did not escape. The father then came forward and pleaded for their freedom, but to no avail. He then tried to grab his son away from the clutches of the security guard and physically attacked the guard in doing so.

The family eventually fled with their car.

In the latest update by PDRM, the 15-year-old teenager was arrested by the police after he surrendered himself at the police station around 1 PM, with the company of his family members. The teenager, however, was released on police bail after his statement was recorded.

The investigation papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon, Jempol District Police Chief, Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar said.

Norhisham said that a check by supermarket workers on the bag carried by the suspect found two packets of black pepper sauce and two packets of mayonnaise that were not accompanied by a payment receipt, with an estimated value of RM41. The matter took place on July 11, around 8:07 PM in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.

The matter is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which can result in a fine not exceeding RM100 if convicted, reported Sinar Harian.
