Out of this world!

That’s the only thing that we can say about Azhar Ali as he was awarded a scholarship from NASA after taking part in the Artemis Challenge by the space agency. The challenge requires its participants to design a spacesuit interface that would adjust to the Artemis 2024 mission to Mars.

Azhar obtained a SUPER DISTINCTION score of 96.77 per cent and he belongs to the top one per cent of all participants. The total amount of participants who took part in the challenge were 3,623,982 and only 1.52% of them managed to score between 90 to 100 per cent.

Upon receiving this scholarship, Azhar is now a citizen scientist and will be continuing his studies at the National University of Singapore, fully funded by the NASA Degree Scholarship. Azhar broke the good news on his Twitter account and the tweet has received numerous replies, congratulating him on his achievement.

Among those who reached out to him is YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation who invited him to join the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation as well as the Malaysian Space Agency in the future in order to inspire more young Malaysians to pick up the knowledge and skills.

We are proud of you Azhar! Hopefully, this is the start of something greater and surely we will be excited to see your progress and what you will achieve in the near future. The sky is no longer the limits when you are at NASA.
