Parents will always do their best to provide the best lives for their children, but during this global pandemic where thousands have lost their jobs, supporting a family is not easy.
According to a Taiwanese news site, a 24-year-old single father, who works two jobs a day to support himself and his three-year-old son, caught the attention of netizens after photos of him and his son were uploaded on the Internet.
Lin works as a construction worker during the day from 8.30am to 5.30pm. After work, he would immediately start his second job as a part-time food rider at 6pm and would work up to 10pm at night or even up till midnight on some occasions. On average, he would work over 13 hours a day.
One time, Lin brought his son along with him while he delivered food, which caught the attention of witnesses who took photos of him. His story soon got the attention of local media who conducted an interview with him where he shared how he goes about his part-time job with his son.
Lin shared that there are times when he has to bring his son along with him as there is no one at home to take care of him.
During his food delivery rides, his son usually likes to sit at the back with the food box strapped to his back, but he would always accidentally fall asleep.
So, in order to be safe, Lin puts his son in front to keep an eye on him.
Sometimes when Lin is delivering many drinks at a time, his son would also offer to help him carry the drinks. Aiyo, such a helpful little boy!
And when his son gets a little cranky, Lin would give him a lollipop.
Lin, who separated from his wife, has since been independently raising his son.
He mentioned that his living cost can come up to 30,000 Taiwan dollars (about RM4,350) a month.
He added that even though he is exhausted at the end of every day, seeing his son smile makes the tiredness go away. He said that as long as his son grows up safely and happily, all his efforts will be worth it.
