How much do your haircuts usually cost? RM10, RM20? Maybe more than that if you go to a really nice hair salon, but you do get what you pay for la. (usually)
But for four Malaysians, their haircut wound up costing them RM1,000 each when they were found breaking the MCO laws, as Utusan Borneo reports. Aren’t you glad you decided to grow your hair out during MCO instead?
The incident, which took place outside the home of one of the men in Kota Samarahan, involved 2 army personnel and one of their nephews, as well as the barber who was providing a ‘door-to-door’ haircut service. Four of them were found gathering in the evening, with the men eagerly anticipating a fresh hairdo, without realising that the local police had been tipped off about their activities by an anonymous caller.
Immediately after receiving the tip-off, police then paid them a visit and arrested them, given the fact that they had absolutely no lawful reason to be gathering together in the first place. Slapped with a RM1,000 fine each, they may also face a month in jail if they fail to pay off their fine!
Which comes to show that at this point in time, you really shouldn’t be trying to skirt around the law!
