Our frontliners are still fighting hard against Covid-19, especially now that numbers are skyrocketing again.

But what’s surprising is that 382 positive cases recorded yesterday (2 February) came out of a PDRM training centre.

According to Berita Harian, 382 trainees from the Pusat Latihan Polis (PULAPOL) at Jalan Sultan Tahya Petra, have tested positive for Covid-19, after screenings and tests were done last week.

Bukit Aman Management Director, Datuk Ramli Din, shared that apart from the 382 trainees, 46 staff members from PULAPOL also tested positive.

“For the time being, we are not allowing any movement in and out of the training facility and have stopped all activities and training. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is working closely with the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) in placing all who have tested positive at MAEPS Serdang for treatment and quarantine,” he said.

Some of the trainees who tested positive earlier have already been placed at MAEPS while there is still a portion of them who will be sent over as soon as possible.

“We are also in the process of sanitising several locations in PULAPOL.”

Earlier, KKM had announced the discovery of a workplace cluster at Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, but did not disclose the exact location.

We genuinely hope that all infected trainees and staff members have speedy recoveries.
