A 41-year-old Malaysian man has been diagnosed with 2019-nCov and tested positive for the new coronavirus.
This makes him the first Malaysian to have contracted the virus, reported Harian Metro.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahman said the patient from Selangor had attended a meeting in Singapore with several colleagues from China – including one from Wuhan, according to CNA.

“He returned to Malaysia on January 23, and on January 29, he received treatment at a private hospital because of fever and cough,” Dzulkefly said.
“Then, he was referred to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on February 2, and was admitted to the isolation ward. He was confirmed for the 2019-nCoV yesterday.”
Datuk Dzulkefly said the man is in stable condition and receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital, and added that the patient’s immediate family would be put on home surveillance for 14 days.
The Ministry of Health has also contacted its Singapore counterpart to commence contact tracing.

The total number of cases in Malaysia is now 10, with most of them being individuals from Wuhan, China who had come to Johor from Singapore.
Some of them are relatives of the infected patients in Singapore and have been put in isolation.
