Five individuals in Alor Setar, Kedah have been compounded RM2,000 each after the police found them breaking the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Movement Control Order 3.0 (MCO 3.0) last Friday evening (14 May 2021). As reported by Harian Metro, the police caught them driving inside a Proton Wira car with more than the allowable capacity of 3 people in Jalan Alor Mengkudu.
The Kota Setar District Police Chief, ACP Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said that all five individuals were arrested at 6pm on 14 May. All of them were from the ages of 19 to 23 years-old and was asked to stop by the police’s Covid-19 observation squad who noticed that they were violating MCO 3.0 SOP.
Ahmad Shukri commented,
“After examination, we found them violating the SOP of MCO 3.0 whereby they were driving a private car with more than 3 people on board during this MCO period.”

The police then compounded RM2,000 each to all of the passengers as well as the driver for an offence under the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases)(Amendment) Ordinance 2021.
