50yo M’sian Man Reverses & Hits an Axia with His Hilux Multiple Times in JB Road Rage Incident, Gets Arrested

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested a 50-year-old Malaysian man who turned aggressive on the road in Johor Bahru, Johor, by reversing his Toyota Hilux to hit a Perodua Axia multiple times following an argument with the driver of the latter.

Taking to its official Facebook page, the Johor Bahru Selatan District Police shared a statement on the matter and attached a video of the shocking incident.

In the video, the Perodua Axia can be seen parked by the roadside while its driver was standing on its rear.

The Toyota Hilux can then be seen reversing and hitting the Axia twice before driving away.

A closer look at the first hit showed that the Axia’s driver was hit by his own car due to the momentum of the crash.

The 50-year-old Hilux driver has been arrested

In the statement, Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief ACP Raub bin Selamat revealed that the incident took place at Jalan Tun Razak, Johor Bahru, Johor, at around 3.10pm on 22 June 2025.

Raub added that an initial investigation found that the victim, a 63-year-old local man, slowed down his vehicle while driving his Axia as he had missed a turn.

The suspect, a 50-year-old local man, was driving behind the victim before aggressively overtaking the Axia with his Hilux.

This resulted in a verbal argument between the two before the suspect turned aggressive by hitting the Axia 3 times, resulting in damages worth RM15,300.

The police have since opened an investigation paper into the incident and arrested the suspect.

The Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief further revealed that the suspect had 7 previous criminal records, but is not currently on a wanted list. The suspect also tested negative for drugs.

The suspect will be brought to the Johor Bahru Magistrate Court for a remand order under Section 117 of the Penal Code today.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage. If convicted, he may face imprisonment of up to 5 years, a fine, or both.

The case is also being investigated under two other provisions, namely Section 279 of the Penal Code for rash driving on a public way and Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

The former prescribed a punishment of imprisonment of up to 6 months, or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, while the latter prescribed up to 5 years in jail, a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000, and suspension of driving license for up to 2 years, respectively.
