New places, new faces. Whether you’re meeting locals or foreigners, these people who come and go during your adventure will forever be engraved in your memory. From that first moment when you say “hello” to a stranger, to becoming friends with them, to the bittersweet goodbyes, they’ll always remain with you in your mind.
6. Do it while you still have the energy to live off nothing but your backpack
“One day,” echoed your voice inside your head. There seems to always be a reason that’s holding you back.
“Maybe in another few years when my career takes off.” or “Wait till I’ve accumulated more money first.”
You soon realise that, in truth, there’s never a ‘good’ time to travel. You’re now the manager in your team, it’s too late to leave the company now. Then, sooner than you know it, you’ve got commitments like car loans, a wife, or even a child.
Looking back when you’re in your 20s or 30s, you wished you grasped onto that chance to just get up and go. With nothing but the clothes and the backpack on your back against the great big world.
7. Ultimately, travelling is easier than you think
With cheap flight tickets, hostels and the internet, anything is within reach, even that dream destination which is 15,000km away. All’s left is that little push for you to step out of your comfort zone.
