On 6 March, an underage driver caused a road accident in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, after failing to stop at a traffic light, resulting in the deaths of three people.
As previously reported, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirmed that the driver, who ran the red light at Jalan Persiaran Senawang, did not possess a valid driving license.
The Honda Jazz driver has changed his plea to guilty
In a recent update, the 17-year-old who was driving a Honda Jazz changed his plea to guilty at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday (17 December).
The teenager entered the plea after the charge was read before Magistrate Nurul Azuin Mohd Talhah during case management proceedings, according to Kosmo!.

Previously, when charged on 22 April, the teenager pleaded not guilty, and his then-lawyer, Johan Radzi, submitted a representation to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), which was later rejected.
Deputy Public Prosecutor P. Rubini informed the court on 19 November, as reported by Berita Harian.

The accused was charged with reckless driving that led to the deaths of 15-year-old Muhammad Aidil Ramdan Abdullah, 16-year-old Muhammad Aswari Lotpi, and 17-year-old Aisar Azim Abdullah.
Aisar Azim Abdullah succumbed to his injuries after nearly a week of treatment.
Previously, Aisar’s mother, Nurha’afza Salwa Hazizan, confirmed that the family plans to take legal action against the unlicensed driver.
“Two lives were lost, and now my son is gone, too. We will fight until the very end,” she said.
The driver’s older sister has also apologised for her earlier controversial comments made while her brother was receiving treatment in the hospital. Her posts defending him sparked public backlash, with many Malaysians accusing her of playing the victim.
“I admit I was emotional when I made those posts. I am truly sorry and deeply regret my actions,” she said.
The court has set 25 February for sentencing to allow time for a report on his character and case facts, as he is considered a youthful offender.
