Just weeks ago, our main airport that welcomes foreign tourists from all over the world, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), was listed as the 8th worst airport in Asia, garnering a rating of 3.36 over 10 by business travelers.

Though, now, another Malaysian airport is riding on the high of a winning streak as they’ve earned the top stop on another list for the 3rd year in a row.

The Malaysia Airports Twitter page recently shared how the Langkawi International Airport (LGK) has won the Airports Council International’s (ACI’s) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for best airport in Asia-Pacific for the 3rd time.

They wrote, “A hat trick for Langkawi International Airport (LGK)! LGK has bagged the ASQ Award by Airports Council International for Best Airport (2 to 5 million passengers) in Asia-Pacific for the 3rd year in a row!”

“A heartfelt thank you to the team for maintaining the airport as a top-notch facility, consistently providing exceptional service and satisfaction to its passengers.”

Taking to their website, Malaysia Airports explained how the ACI evaluates the performance of airports.

“The ASQ program by ACI establishes the benchmark for global airport customer experience, employing a rigorous methodology that involves on-site surveys with passengers. These surveys evaluate satisfaction levels across over 30 performance metrics, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of airport services.”

“In 2023, more than 400 airports participated in the programme, collecting nearly 600,000 passenger surveys,” they explained.

Congratulations, Langkawi International Airport!
