Times of crisis really do bring out the best in people, as we band together to overcome challenges.
Such is the case of the current Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak in Malaysia, with many locals all across the country doing their part to help out. Given that fact, a fruit vendor has decided to contribute to the effort and help out our front-line officers, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.
The plantation owner, who is based in Sitiawan, Perak, decided that in order to show his appreciation for the front-line police officers and medical staff who have been working tirelessly to enforce the Movement Control Order, he would donate over 100 kilos of his fresh fruits to them!
But not only are the fruits fresh, they were also peeled, cut, and properly stored into easy to carry containers so that the front-line workers could enjoy a nutritious boost as they worked!
Knowing that front-line staff would not have any time to do all this themselves, he decided that this would be the easiest solution, despite requiring extra manpower and hours put in to prepare.
When asked how many boxes of fruits he managed to deliver to the front-line staff, the plantation owner said that over 200 boxes of fruits were packed, that included bananas, papayas, pears and pineapples.
As his own plantation isn’t facing a shortage in supply, he said that he decided to donate what he had harvested to the front-line staff first, before selling off whatever remains in his inventory.
It is shining examples like this that continue to inspire us all Malaysians to do our part in helping out our front-liners. And at this point, the best thing we can do is stay home!
