According to Reuters, an 83-year-old witch doctor from Indonesia was recently charged by local authorities after it was discovered that he had trapped a 12-year-old girl and tricked her into having sex with him for 15 years.
The police had acted on a tip-off and found the victim, who is now 28 years old, in a rocky crevice in a jungle near Bajugan village. She had reportedly been kept in a hut near the shaman’s home since she disappeared in 2003.

According to the police, he had reportedly convinced the young girl that he was possessed by the spirit of a young boy. Central Sulawesi Police Chief Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy told reporters that he had shown the girl a photo of a young boy named Amrin, making her think that he was her boyfriend trapped in the old man’s body.
“She was led to believe that Amrin’s spirit had entered (the elderly man’s) body. It is obvious that he was satisfying his lust.”
The police chief added that the woman said she had been having intercourse with Amrin’s spirit but was really having sex with the shaman. Meanwhile, the 83-year-old had already admitted to authorities that they have had sexual relations since 2008 (when she was about 17).

He had also lied to the woman’s family about her disappearance, telling them that she left for Jakarta to work.
The victim’s sister, who is actually married to the witch doctor’s son, had reportedly alerted the authorities that she was nearby.
Meanwhile, the shaman has been charged under Indonesia’s child protection laws, and he could spend up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
Well, let’s hope that the victim can recover from her ordeal and assimilate into society, while the shaman is punished appropriately if he is found guilty.
