Just days ago, people were complaining that the tickets for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 matches held at Stadium Bukit Jalil were too expensive.
Considering this, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) decided to reduce the prices of all ticket categories. But, is it enough?
Here’s a breakdown of the initial reductions:
- Grandstand tickets were reduced to RM70 from RM100.
- Premium tickets were reduced to RM60 from RM70.
- Open tickets were reduced to RM45 from RM50.
- Childrens’ tickets remained at RM10.
Following this, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh thanked FAM for their efforts but ultimately requested that they reduce the prices more, so that regular folks can better afford them.
“Thank you, Football Association of Malaysia, for reducing the ticket prices, but please consider reducing the prices of the ‘Open’ tier so that we can increase the attendance of sports fans and promote the family sports culture,” she wrote on her official Facebook page.
And guess what? They did!
The tickets are now priced at RM60 for the grandstand tier, RM50 for the premium tier, RM30 for the open tier and RM5 for children.
It’s truly great to see how our new Ministers are fitting into their roles in such an effective and immediate manner.
