In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we may have forgotten that airline employees are also frontliners in battling the Covid-19 pandemic. They’re responsible for bringing back Malaysians who are stranded overseas and ensure they have a smooth journey back home.

To make sure their cabin crew is safe in their job, AirAsia just revealed a new line of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that even comes in their signature red colour!

According to The Star, the red-hot suit was designed in collaboration with Filipino fashion designer Puey Quiñones and has even been approved by the Philippines’ Department of Health. Puey Quiñones who’s a Los Angeles based designer said he’s also been designing PPEs not only for Air Asia but also for other brands and hospitals ever since the outbreak began.

The flight attendants will have to wear their PPEs on all of Air Asia’s domestic and international flights. It was announced yesterday that Air Asia will resume operations on domestic flights starting 29th April. However, the airline will observe a set of regulations to ensure the safety of all members onboard the aircraft during this time.

Kudos to Puey Quiñones and Air Asia for putting the safety of their cabin crew first! A big thank you also to our cabin crews who are bringing our stranded Malaysians back in safety!
