Well, this is certainly something you don’t see everyday!
Yesterday (4th May), a widely circulated Facebook post caught the attention of thousands of Malaysians.
This post by the Penang Online Facebook page, showed videos of two hawkers who apparently hijacked a Penang Island City Council (MBPP)-owned lorry while their food stall was being raided.
In the first video, the two hawkers can be seen angrily complaining about how authorities from the MBPP allegedly started raiding their stall and confiscating the tables and chairs without any prior notice.
According to one of the hawkers, he has been trying to apply for a license but has failed in obtaining one to this day.

Upset by the alleged unannounced raid on their stall, the two hawkers decided to take matters into their own hands by hijacking the MBPP authorities’ lorry and drive to the nearby Pulau Tikus police station to file a report against the MBPP.
These guys have balls of steel man!

A second video shows the lorry being driven around town.
Since the incident, The Star reported that these hawkers have been arrested.
George Town OCPD Senior Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid addressed the incident, saying,
“The (MBPP) enforcement officer said he got down from the lorry and walked to the back of the vehicle to lower the ramp. The two suspects then got into the lorry, locked the door and drove off.”
“We are now seeking a remand order at the George Town court pending investigation.”
Let’s hope this matter is sorted out quickly, then!
