Listen up, MacBook Pro users!
In an announcement on Apple’s website, the company stated it would be recalling some of their 15-inch MacBook Pros as the batteries are having overheating problems that could pose a fire safety risk.

The affected units are older generation 15-inch MacBook Pros sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017. This recall does not affect any other MacBook Pro units and other Apple laptops.
To determine if your laptop is part of this batch of MacBooks, click on “About This Mac” from the Apple menu (with the Apple logo) on the top left corner of your screen. Then, confirm your model is “MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)”. If your MacBook Pro displays this, check your serial number.
MacBook users can check if their laptops have been affected by the recall by keying in their product serial number here.

According to The Verge, if your MacBook is affected, Apple will replace your battery for free. However, it could take between one and two weeks to replace the battery. Meanwhile, Apple did not explain what was causing these batteries to overheat.
