Having gone viral on social media is a video witnessing how full the Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) in Serdang have become.

In the said video, people were seen lining up in huge numbers, making their way through the sleeping quarters at MAEPS, probably due to the country’s relentless rise of Covid-19 cases.

The video, which has garnered more than 9.9k retweets, witnessed netizens commenting on the importance of breaking the Covid-19 chain ourselves.

However, a recent report published in mainstream media writes that the scene may not tell the full story.

According to a patient stationed there and is currently receiving treatment, most beds at the facility are still empty.

“When you look at areas meant to house Malaysian citizens, only half the beds are filled.”

MAEPS was reactivated as a Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre last December, first activated from the 16th of April to the 15th of July 2020.

Let’s not add more to the panic already surrounding communities in our country, shall we?
