Just a week back, you might have seen a video of a tourist who danced in her birthday suit at a cultural event in Bali.

It seems that the incident may be the last straw for the officials of Bali as they have laid down a list specifying the dos and don’ts for tourists when on the vacation island.

It is said that a card with the list will be attached to the tourist passports upon arrival and those who break the rules might have to face legal consequences under Indonesian laws.

According to Channel News Asia, the rules require tourists to respect the temples and the religious symbols on the island and also to respect the customs, traditions, art and culture, as well as the local wisdom of the Balinese people during the rituals and ceremonies.

Tourists should wear appropriate clothing, behave respectfully and be accompanied by a licensed tour guide when visiting tourist attractions.

They are also required to pay for goods, services and experiences in the local currency and must obey Indonesian traffic laws and regulations.

Other than those stated above, tourists must not enter sacred places other than to pray and they must be dressed modestly and not menstruating when doing so. Engaging in behaviours that desecrate any sacred place or religious symbol is also not allowed.

Lastly, tourists must not litter, behave impolitely, work without obtaining proper licenses or engage in illegal activities.

Well, this list doesn’t seem hard to follow. What do you think about this? Will you be going to Bali anytime soon?
