Are millennials really well-known for their lack of brand loyalty? Well, some people believe so!
After all, with the common perception that millennials would constantly switch the brands we use, or hop companies frequently in a short span of time, we can see why some would think we’re fickle-minded.
However, the peculiar thing about this notion of “millennials don’t have brand loyalty” is that some people even find it applicable to young people’s loyalty towards a political party, as revealed by one fellow party member.
According to Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, millennials may just support Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election, reported The Malay Mail.
He believes that BN may resume to power (in 2023) because young voters don’t have “brand loyalty”.

“The youths are served many sweet promises because they have no brand loyalty. So what is served by PH is very endearing for them, and they will vote for PH,” he explained.

In fact, the Negeri Sembilan Umno chief also noted that this is the very characteristic that had led to Pakatan Harapan’s win.

He then continued,
“Since they have no brand loyalty, so in the 15th GE, in 2023, they may just come back to BN, if we can table hope for them.”
Nonetheless, Hasan admitted that BN’s incapability to address the problems faced by the country and the party were also the contributing factor to their loss.

While Hasan has made some interesting points, there’s still the possibility of millennials voting for PH to remain the government in 2023. Of course, provided that they manage to perform well in the five years to come.
With that said, we would definitely need to wait for the 15th General Election to see if Hasan’s prediction is true. In the meantime, let’s focus on our current government and help them restore our country’s glory!
