This is very upsetting and unsettling!

FMT reported that a 12-year-old is currently in critical condition after he was allegedly raped and pushed down the stairs from the 20th floor by a mentally-disabled man. This incident reportedly took place in a low-cost flat at Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur.

A spokesperson for the boy’s family, Fazrysham Kamran said that the poor boy, who was supposed to be sitting for his UPSR examination today (24 September 2018), was purportedly sodomised by the accused on 12 September 2018. Two days later, on 14 September 2018, a police report was lodged regarding the unfortunate case.

Fazrysham, who is an activist from the welfare organisation Komuniti Harmoni Kita, added that the disabled man has a Department of Welfare card, which is meant for people with disabilities.

The report further revealed that the boy suffered brain injuries from the fall and he was in a coma a week before regaining his consciousness. Thankfully, the boy has regained his consciousness!

Fazrysham shared that the man apparently lured the boy into his house and watched pornographic video clips together on the man’s phone. Then, the man proceeded to ask the boy to imitate the scene in the video.

Fazrysham alleged that the same man had sodomised the boy before but he didn’t get into any serious trouble because of his disabled status. He was quoted as saying,

“The boy had been sexually harassed since last year but the culprit was allowed to walk free.”

As of now, the boy is being treated at University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and he is still traumatised by the incident.

“He was screaming when I met him. I don’t know whether he was in pain or in fear,” he shared.

[Update] Contrary to the abovementioned statements, a recent report at 8.11pm on 24 September revealed the boy was not actually harmed by the mentally-disabled man in any way.

The Star reported that Brickfields district police deputy chief Supt Arifai Tarawe said that the report of the boy falling from the 20th floor to the 19th floor was true but not the claims of him being sodomised by the disabled man.

“The report was not correct. There was an incident of a child falling from the 20th-floor stairs to the 19th floor at Kondo Rakyat. (He was) not sodomised and thrown over by a disabled person suffering mental problems.”

“However, investigations are still being conducted with the victim’s statement recorded because, at present, the medical officer treating him at the University Malaya Medical Centre has advised him to rest,” he said to The Star.

It’s certainly a pity that the boy is unable to sit for the UPSR exam today as it’s an important primary examination. That said, we hope that the boy will recover from his traumatic experience and justice will be served appropriately.
