The Ministry of Health also reported that the Benteng Cluster in Lahad Datu and Tawau is under control as the individuals infected by the virus have been isolated from the public. They said that this cluster is similar to the Covid-19 clusters detected in the immigration detention depots previously.
As for the screenings that are taking place in Lahad Datu and Tawau, the results are as follows:
Lahad Datu (431 screened):
• 87 positive
• 132 negative
• 212 awaiting results
Tawau (1,579 screened):
• 41 positive
• 425 negative
• 1,113 awaiting results
Just yesterday (7 September), a total of 62 cases was recorded, which is the first surge in new cases in the past few weeks. We hope these infections will be able to be contained in the next few days.
In the meantime, please practise physical distancing and stay safe!
