When Malaysian influencer Harvinth Skin’s shoe stealing prank video became a hit sensation on the internet, his online exploit did not go unnoticed. Now people in China too, have followed suit and developed similar pranks!

Although shoes might be fun to steal, the Chinese thought they needed something more substantial – so they decided to steal jewellery instead.
Featured on 14.3M views, the video typically begins with a person posing as a ‘potential buyer’ at a jewellery store.
After asking to try on a necklace, the prankster makes a dash towards the exit. This makes the clerk practise some kind of panicked parkour to stop the prankster.
The bling runaway scene, however, is different from the shoe stealing prank as the prankster does not exit the store. Instead, they pretend to look at another piece of jewellery or look at a mirror near the exit.

Realizing that the apparent robbery is nothing more than a prank, the clerks usually just laugh at themselves.
