A man in his 50s and a woman in her 30s in Johor, who are colleagues, applied for leave and checked into a hotel in Kluang, before they were both caught for khalwat.

The pair, who are married to other people, managed to keep their affair a secret in the workplace, but unfortunately, they couldn’t evade the officers from the state Religious Department (JAINJ) when they came knocking at 10 AM after receiving a complaint from the public.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 30s were caught cheating on their respective spouses during a khalwat raid in Kluang

According to the spokesperson of JAINJ, the man, who was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, opened the door 5 minutes later, and immediately tried to close it after realising the presence of JAINJ officers. They didn’t even get the chance to eat two packs of nasi lemak.

The officers managed to enter the room and switched off the television, which they claimed was too loud and could be heard from outside the room. The other woman hid in the bathroom and only came out five minutes after JAINJ officers convinced her to.

“Both have respective spouses and kids, and the man, who is in his 50s, is 18 years older than the woman. The pair checked in at 8 AM and planned to leave at 12 PM, but paid for the rate of one night,” the JAINJ spokesperson shared.

Both of them come from nearby districts and they know each other’s partners. Their relationship in the office was normal and did not raise suspicions among any colleagues.

They were both detained under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997

In a Facebook post by the spokesperson, it was revealed that the officers found two packs of untouched nasi lemak and beverages on the table.

Both were detained for investigation under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997 on suspicion of seclusion and were taken to the police station for further action.

The woman’s husband did not know his wife was on leave because he saw her leaving the house as usual, while the man’s wife never asked whether her husband was on leave or not.
