Don’t worry, concertgoers. This is not the call for a ban on concerts in Malaysia. It’s only a temporary slight change.

Hannah Yeoh recently confirmed that the construction of concert stages in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium is prohibited at the time being. This is an effort to ensure the growth and good condition of the grass, as well as the stadium before the final match of the 2026 World Cup against Taiwan, reported Sin Chew.

According to a statement by the Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM), no concert stages are allowed at the stadium until the grass reaches an acceptable standard.

What about the upcoming shows?

As of today (April 7), Indian singer Haris Jayaraj is scheduled to perform at the venue on May 25. The show will only be limited to the runway track, and will not involve the field.

No other events will take place at the stadium before the World Cup match except the Double Red match between the Manchester United Legends and Liverpool Legends, which has been scheduled for April 27.

Let’s hope the condition of the grass and the stadium can be preserved for everyone’s benefit!
