Just recently in Yongzhou, a pair of cousins flew home by plane, covering a distance of 65 kilometres in just 15 minutes. From the sky, they were able to “observe” the long holiday traffic jam below, making many netizens envious.

One of them, Tang, shared that she and her cousin, Chen, wanted to return to their hometown during the holiday but were concerned about road congestion. So, they opted to fly instead.

Chen told reporters that he works in the urban area of Yongzhou, while their hometown is in Lumaqiao Town, Dong’an County, about 65 kilometres away.

If they had driven, the journey would have taken over an hour without traffic. But by plane, the entire trip took only 15 minutes, saving them a significant amount of time.

“We often fly home. People in our village are used to it. Many villagers have taken my plane before. For us, it’s just another mode of transportation,” Chen said.

In Tang’s video, the roads below were already packed with long queues of vehicles. Mr. Chen also revealed that even the skies can get congested.

“For example, during flight training at our base, more than ten planes flying at the same time can lead to queuing in the air.”
