The Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) yesterday (23 March) took to its official Facebook account to reveal the outcome of a KL Strike Force operation targetting hotel premises operated by foreigners within its jurisdiction.

DBKL asserted that its enforcement officers had identified several premises for enforcement actions by conducting investigations and monitoring several hotspot locations in the city for nearly a week.

The city council revealed that the KL Strike Force operation took action against four hotel premises found to be operating without a valid business license and run by foreigners.

As a result of the operation, three of the hotel premises were shut down immediately under the Hotels (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 2003.

Additionally, DBKL also issued Notices of Offence under the same Act and Compound Offer Notices under the Licensing of Trades, Business and Industries (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-laws 2016 for various offences.

However, DBKL didn’t specifically mention the action taken against the fourth hotel that was found to be operating without a license and run by foreigners.

At the end of the post, DBKL stressed that it will continue to take action and carry out monitoring from time to time at identified hotspots.

DBKL also urged the public to contact and provide information to the city council via https://adukl.dbkl.gov.my for any complaints.
