The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) recently launched a new online service that allows taxpayers to apply to ‘pay later’ their tax balances or tax arrears.

Called ‘e-Ansuran’, the service allows taxpayers to pay their income tax in instalments of up to six months and has been accessible on LHDN’s MyTax portal since 5 March 2025.

In a statement, LHDN asserted that the e-Ansuran initiative is meant to make it easier for taxpayers to apply to pay their tax balances or tax arrears in instalments. Moreover, the service allows taxpayers to get approval automatically without the need for supporting documents.

LHDN added that taxpayers who fulfil these criteria are eligible to apply for the e-Ansuran service:

  • The amount applied is over RM300
  • The number of instalments ranges between two and six payments
  • Only payments of income tax are applicable and don’t include ongoing instalment plans

The e-Ansuran service can only be accessed after taxpayers log into the MyTax portal here.

On the e-Ansuran website, LHDN elaborated on additional criteria to apply for the service, including:

  • The minimum monthly instalment payment is RM50
  • The due date for the monthly instalments is either on the first day or fifteenth day of the month
  • Cancellation of e-Ansuran can only be done at LHDN offices

LHDN stressed that it’s committed to providing more flexible and user-friendly tax payment facilities. It’s also hopeful that the implementation of e-Ansuran would help taxpayers fulfil their tax obligations much more easily and systematically.
