Due to the spike of positive Covid-19 cases in Aman Jaya, Kedah, it will undergo Administrative Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) on 12:01am tomorrow (28 August). It is going to last until further notice, said Senior Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Based on the Ministry of Health official Facebook page, three selected areas (Kenanga, Melur and Mawar) involving a total of 22,360 individuals and 265 households are to be affected by the targeted lockdown. Public places like schools and mosques will be closed.
Employers are asked to permit their employees to work from home in controlling the spread of the virus. Additionally, only one representative from the family is allowed to buy daily necessities.
Restaurants and eateries are prohibited to provide dining-in services but only take-away within the operation business from 8 am to 8 pm. The same working hours apply to petrol stations and essential sundry shops. For public markets, they will be from 6 am until 2 pm. During EMCO, night markets (pasar malam, including pasar tani) are not allowed to operate.
“Hospitals and clinics are given permission to open 24 hours. However, pharmacists and other medicinal stores to be closed at 8 pm,” said Datuk Ismail Sabri, according to Berita Harian.
“If emergency cases arise, like deaths or in need of medical treatments, the people are allowed to leave the zones but they need to request permission from authorities,” he added.
