The Movement Control Order started on the 18th of March and is expected to end on the 31st of March. The first week of the order coincided with the school holidays, which were supposed to end this Sunday, 22nd March. This really helped to control mass gatherings in schools to prevent the spread of the virus.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob made an announcement today that the school holidays will be extended till the 31st of March. He added that this move was necessary to curb the movement of the people. The Star reported that when the school holidays are extended, parent need not leave their house to send their children to school, etc.

“So our order is for parents who are with their children during the holidays to continue staying on in their kampung until March 31.”

We hope with this school holiday extension, parents and other Malaysians will heed to the government’s advice and STAY AT HOME! If you’re at home, stay home and you travelled back to your hometown, stay put there. Unless you’re working in the essential service, you don’t even need to go into your office. Take this opportunity to spend some fun family time indoors!
