It is undeniable that pet parents will do whatever it takes to ensure that their furry kids have the most comfortable lives that they can have. From specialized food to fancy collars, these signs of love is something pet parents will do whole-heartedly. Are you a pet parent? Well, if you are, then you should register your pet and get an animal passport.

“What’s an animal passport, you ask? Well, it is actually an initiative that was launched back in 2010 to help with disease control, improve the animal traceability system, promote pet ownership responsibility and promote awareness in animal welfare. The service has recently come to light after Twitter user, @ShazGhaf, decided to share his experience of registering his cat, Pablo.

According to the official Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia website, the pet passport is an official document of the Malaysian Government under the Malaysian Animal Traceability System (MATs) Project. The passport is not only for cats but for dogs, rabbits and horses too, and owners need to only pay a small fee.

However, for a microchip, physical examination and picture, @ShazGhaf explained that he paid about RM85 for Pablo to get the passport, microchip and vaccination.

So are you interested in getting a passport for your furry friend? Just visit any Department Of Veterinary Services offices or Veterinary Clinics that’s accredited as a Malaysian Animal Registrar.
