Malaysians cheered in joy when the Prime Minister announced on Sunday that interstate travelling will now be allowed. Single people missing their parents, relatives unable to balik kampung for Hari Raya started planning their trips and some even planned their vacations.
Sensing everyone’s excitement, Public Health Malaysia released an infographic reminding everyone that despite this relaxation, let’s all not rush to go back home and possibly cause another cluster. Plan your travels and if possible, maybe give a chance to the single people who’ve been missing their family dearly.
The infographic was a travel plan suggestion for those who plan to go back.
It detailed that to avoid your house to overcrowd, the first week can probably be reserved for your single siblings. The following week can be for the subsequent siblings and their families. PHM reminded netizens to make sure there’s no large family gathering.
This is of course if you have four siblings, if there’s more or less in your family, just adjust lah!
They also reminded that netizens shouldn’t take advantage of these relaxations and if you were to violate any SOPs, the police will still pay you a visit.
You’re only allowed to visit your parents. Do NOT misuse this opportunity to have a large family reunion and even invite your long-lost relatives for gatherings. You’re also not allowed to have any school reunions or open houses. Gatherings with more than 20 people are still strictly prohibited.
Basically, what they’re saying is that just go home and spend some quality time with your parents. PHM urged netizens who see too many cars outside their neighbours’ house, report it to the police.
Make sure to appreciate the relaxations but don’t misuse it. We have to remember that the recovery phase is the most important phase. Any slip-ups now, don’t be surprised if we’re back in MCO Phase 1!
