If you have taken a loan from PTPTN when you wanted to further your studies, please pay up. A small amount will do as long as you consistently pay. If not, you are taking away the opportunities of other potential students to get financial help when they want to go for tertiary education.

Dr Mahathir, as quoted by The Star, stated that currently the total amount of money owed to the PTPTN is RM39 billion. That is nearly the same as the losses incurred by 1MDB.
He added,
“That’s how much money has not been paid to the Government for what it spent on you to give a good education, and therefore opportunities for a better job and income.”
He also mentioned that Malaysians are only shameful when it comes to dressing or when they are caught red-handed stealing. Not when they owe money to people.

Previously Pakatan Harapan stated in its manifesto that those whose salaries were below RM4,000 a month can opt for postponement of repaying their PTPTN loan, abolishing the travel blacklisting policy.
How to make PTPTN repayment?
If you want to make any loan repayments or deposits, there are actually so many other methods that allow you to do so. In this internet era, almost everything can be done online!

- direct debit from your account or salary

Like we said earlier, if you owe PTPTN money, just pay so that the other students can also enjoy the same privileges that you had. Plus you don’t want to be in the same category as those who steal money from the country through 1MDB, right?
