Well, this is an unlikely situation!
Two ex-factory workers hit the “jackpot” when a 27-year-old HR (human resources) manager accidentally deposited their salaries (RM5,161.48 and RM2,138.08 respectively) into their bank accounts despite leaving the company several months back.
NST wrote that upon realising the huge sum in their account, the two of them had planned to go on a shopping spree. However, they couldn’t follow through with their plan because they were asked to return the money by the factory in Gebeng, Pahang. Nevertheless, the men didn’t comply with the request as they refused to give the money back.

Pahang’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Superintendent Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof said,
“After transferring the cash, the manager realised the cash was deposited into accounts belonging to two former workers who quit on 25 July 2019.”
“The company then contacted the two account holders but they refused to cooperate. We will work with the financial institution to track down the duo.”

Mohd Wazir then added that the case is currently under investigation for criminal breach of trust under Section 406 of the Penal Code. If both men were found guilty, they risk being imprisoned for not more than 10 years including whipping. The punishment for this crime also includes a fine.
