The HR Ministry, KESUMA, is currently under fire online after a political activist spotted the background image of one of the Ministry’s programme backdrop.

The political activist, Che GuBard (Badrul Hisham Shaharin), took to his Facebook page to call out KESUMA for using an image of the interior of a cathedral as the background of their Town Hall session backdrop.

He wrote, “The Ministry of Human Resources creating a banner or programme backdrop using the image of a church! What are they trying to normalise?”

“Is it because of all the times banners and backdrops of government events are made with images of mosques, that they now want to show that they can use images of churches to show religious equality? This is an effort of extreme pluralism and liberalism.”

He also included stock image searches of the interior of cathedrals in his post to showcase the similarities to the backdrop’s background.

Netizens are giving their 2 cents

Many have since echoed his sentiments while alleging that HR Minister, Steven Sim, has an agenda through the usage of the image.

“It’s truly something else, the subtle game this DAP Evangelist Minister is playing. How are the Malays in the Madani government not seeing this?”

“They’re repeatedly attacking the sensitivities of Muslims and Islam as the Federal Religion. The Malays in PH and UMNO who gave DAP the opportunity to become part of the government must be held accountable.”

“Make a police report. They’ve gone overboard with their provocations.”
