A wholesome video circulating on social media has restored Malaysians’ faith in their fellow countrymen, depicting the honesty of people living in our country.
Posted on TikTok by @samii63_, a Middle Eastern man who has been living in Malaysia for 7 years, the video showed how nobody had taken 4 cans accidentally left behind or wrongly dispensed from a vending machine, despite them being left out in the open.
Honesty is the best policy
In the video recorded in the foyer of what looks like a residential building, @samii63_ revealed something peculiar he noticed at the vending machine there.
The video then cuts to 4 cans of coffee drinks left on top of the vending machine, to which the overlaid text and text-to-speech of the video asserted,
“Someone forgot these cans or the machine accidentally dispensed them, and no one has taken them,
“Have you experienced this anywhere else?”
In other words, @samii63_ revealed that the cans were either accidentally left behind on top of the vending machine or the machine had wrongly dispensed them.
However, no one had taken the cans even though they could’ve easily done so.
@samii63_ thus praised Malaysians for their honesty in leaving the cans be instead of taking something that doesn’t belong to them.

Malaysians share their 2 cents on the matter
In the comments section, Malaysians share their opinion and theories as to why no one had taken the cans.
One commenter said that Malaysians could’ve easily taken the drinks, but would end up feeling guilty all their life afterwards.
However, there are a few commenters who claim that they would’ve taken the cans if they were there, saying that they wouldn’t say no to ‘free drinks’.
Besides that, one commenter guessed that the cans were expired, to which @samii63_ replied that he checked all the cans and they’re still good for another 5 months or so.
