InDefence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the country will not be allowing foreigners from countries with more than 150,000 positive Covid-19 cases into Malaysia beginning 7 September.
This includes countries such as:
- United States of America
- United Kingdom
- Saudi Arabia
- South Africa
“Unless the case involves emergencies or matters related to the relationship between the two countries. However, permission will need to be obtained from the Immigration Department.”
Bernama reported that this move was made in accordance with the sudden upsurging of cases in those countries.
