The founder of the viral Shah Alam family programme has responded to the allegations of heresy and naked dancing, and in a lengthy statement, Diyana Tahir said that Facebook user Masyitah Ashari was defaming her and the programme itself, known as eHati.
Diyana Tahir’s husband, Rahim Shukor, who is also the founder of the programme, said that each eHati event is carefully developed to comply with professional ethical standards and in line with the cultural and religious values of the community. It includes a therapy module based on massage and ‘air piya‘ drinks, which was claimed to be a sexually aroused “magic mushroom” drink that caused hallucination.
Diyana, in her statement, said that the drink merely consists of cocoa, honey, natural spices, and herbs.
“Regarding the claim that we have taught massage methods with elements of Tantric philosophy, we would like to emphasise that our massage method has actually been adapted from a combination of ‘pelvic muscle massage’ and ‘Thai massage.”
“This method has been developed to be compatible with local values and does not involve other religious elements or rituals.”
Diyana also said that she is taking legal action against those who spread false news about her family, as well as the event. She also reminded JAIS and JAKIM to check the authenticity of the reports before deciding if her event was against Islamic culture.
Diyana also denied that the event was supported by any political parties, as claimed in Masyitah’s previous Facebook post.
Masyitah, in a Facebook post, has since responded to the statement, saying that Diyana did not deny the naked dance, and the sales of sex toys.
In another update, Shah Alam district Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, said that Diyana Tahir and her husband were detained by the police. The couple was detained after providing their statements at the Petaling Jaya Police Station. They were remanded by the Shah Alam Magistrate Court.
Iqbal said the matter will be updated from time to time.
