A woman in Thailand has decided to take matters into her own hands after her wallet was stolen by a thief in Bangkok on December 17.

The woman, Pumpim Parichat, shared on Facebook how the local police allegedly ignored her case and delayed the investigation process despite her already obtaining the CCTV footage of the thief.

In two Facebook posts, Parichat shared how the police at the Bangpho Police Station didn’t accept her complaint and told her to find evidence of the theft.

She then asked the police for a document to access the CCTV footage from the scene and gave it to them. Not only that, but she also obtained other CCTV footage from the locations nearby and handed them to the police.

Furthermore, after receiving notification that her card was used to pay for a product on December 19, she obtained CCTV footage of the transaction and gave it to the officers.

Despite all this, Parichat could still not file a complaint for the theft. Overall, she had visited the police station 4 times, talked to the separate police officers and provided all the necessary evidence required by the police.

Frustrated, she then posted on Facebook to announce she was offering a reward of THB2,000, or approximately RM264 if the thief was willing to surrender to her and return her belongings. She also shared 2 screenshots from separate CCTV footage of the thief.

The post has since gone viral in Thailand, garnering over 5,200 shares and more than 10,000 reactions.

Following the post going viral, Parichat said that the police had finally contacted her recently, and she was finally able to file a complaint on December 27. However, as of the time of writing, Parichat has yet to reveal whether there have been any developments to the case.
