Frontliners are not just medical professionals, they are also people working in the food industry, delivery riders, grocery store workers and cleaners.
And many don’t know the hardships these unsung heroes have to face on a daily basis.
Netizen Asri Ahmad took to his Facebook profile to showcase four garbage collectors in Ampang, sitting by the roadside, eating their meals at 4:30am under the light of their truck’s headlights before they began their working day and their fasts.
Setiap pagi sekitar jam 4:30 pagi akan kedengaran bunyi kenderaan yang familiar di ikuti dengan gesekan roda tong tong…
He wrote, “Every morning, around 4:30 in the morning, I’d hear the sound of a familiar vehicle followed by the friction of the wheels of MPAJ garbage bins. They are the ones who make our rubbish, excrement and dirt ‘disappear’.”
“It doesn’t matter if there’s an MCO or if it’s time to eat before fasting begins during Ramadan, they always cleanly complete their tasks. The job that has been entrusted onto them has to be carried out, rain or shine. The frontliners working at the back of our everyday lives.”
It’s truly sad to see that these men are forced to have their breakfasts before they break their fasts by the side of the road instead of a proper seated area.
We genuinely hope that more people realise the sacrifices these unsung heroes have to endure just so we can live comfortable lives. We should be more appreciative of them.
Thank you, abang-abangs and kakak-kakaks who are helping to keep our streets clean!
