Recently, our Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq suggested that we should bring Go-Jek to Malaysia, and upon that suggestion, the Malaysian cabinet decided to give motorcycle e-hailing services the green light!
Though taxi drivers seemed to not be fans of the idea, it looks like Go-Jek might have some competition, because upon hearing the news, Grab Malaysia has teased the possibility of them getting into the motorbike e-hailing business in Malaysia.
With this picture that was posted on Grab’s official Facebook page, it’s clear the service has accepted the government’s decision with open arms.

Grab writes, “Grab welcomes the cabinet’s decision on introducing bike-hailing to Malaysia.
To date, Grab has created better income opportunities for more than 10,000 motorcycle partners through our GrabFood and GrabExpress service throughout Malaysia. With our experience in going through PSV (Public Service Vehicle) regulations for Grab e-hailing in Malaysia and operating bike-hailing services since 2014 in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, we have the experience to provide the service in the safest manner possible, with features like emergency SOS button and passenger selfie verification.
While we welcome the decisions by the government, we would also like to know more about what YOU think about introducing GrabBike into Malaysia? Are you excited?”
And we can’t wait, considering being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic is a severe waste of time.
Soon, you’ll be able to zoom past your friends who are stuck in the jam, getting to where you need to be, easy and breezy.
