With the help of a Malaysian lawyer, Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar, who paid the RM40,000 bail for Abang Bas, the latter is now free and he’s going to do something about it.
Speaking to the media yesterday (September 17), Datuk Ahmad urged netizens and some celebrities, which he didn’t name to get their money ready.
Abang Bas’ family is taking legal action following criticisms and defamations from the people.
“Break your piggy banks, count the money. It’ll be easier for you. Abang Bas has received too many criticisms after he was arrested,” Datuk Ahmad said.
The lawyer did not mention when the family will proceed with the legal actions but he did remind netizens to apologise if they didn’t want to be sued.
“You can still apologise while there’s still time.”
Datuk Ahmad also said he is still trying to get the bus back, which has been confiscated by the police. Additionally, he also said everything that has happened so far has been proven unfair to the arrested TikToker, especially when the people online barely know him.
“Don’t look from just one perspective. It’s so unfair that you’re making assumptions about Abang Bas on social media when you don’t know him.”
“Abang Bas is a good kid”
In a live TikTok session last night, Datuk Ahmad also shed some light on Abang Bas’ personality, saying he is a good kid.
The TikToker did not understand the word “crush” and he was merely using the word in his caption without understanding the definition.
Abang Bas previously uploaded videos and pictures of underage girls on his school bus in which he used the word “crush” in the caption. One of the videos also showed him undressing the hijab of a schoolgirl before giving her a peck, whom he claimed to be his niece.
The bail covers 3 charges, including one under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, another under Section 15(a)(iii) of the same act, and one under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588).
