Here’s Everything You Need To Know About The CMCO In Klang & Affected Areas

This week, the National Security Council announced that particular areas in Klang would be placed under a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) following the rise in positive Covid-19 cases recorded in the region. However, there wasn’t any specific SOPs or clarifications on the regulations that will apply during the implementation of this order until an official statement was released on their Facebook page yesterday. Here’s everything that you need to know about the CMCO in Klang and the areas affected:

1. PDRM, the Malaysian Army (ATM), the Malaysian Public Defense Forces (APM), and The Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA) will be implementing roadblocks in affected areas.

2. It is advised that only one representative of the family be allowed to go out of the house to stock up on essential goods and home needs. High-risk groups are not encouraged to go out to public spaces.

3. Restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and gas stations are only allowed to operate from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

4. Citizens are advised to purchase their food via drive-in, delivery, or take away instead of dine-in.

5. Public transport services such as buses, taxis, and e-hailing services are allowed to operate from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

6. Markets are to abide by the following operation hours:

  • Wholesale markets: 4:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Regular markets: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Farmer’s markets: 6:00 am – 12:00 am

7. Government and private hospitals are allowed to operate for 24 hours.

8. Pharmacies are allowed to operate from 8:00 am – 11:00 pm.

9. Mosques, suraus, institutions of worship, IPTs, universities, schools, kindergartens, tahfiz centers, childcare centers, indoor and outdoor playgrounds are all instructed to close during this period.

10. All sports, recreation, social, and cultural activities are not allowed to take place between the period of 9 October – 23 October.
