PCR Screen Test and a 14-day quarantine are mandatory for all incoming travellers to Malaysia to curb the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to MySafeTravel, a service provided by MYEG and approved by the Ministry of Health, travellers are supposed to pay for the Covid-19 Screening and Quarantine costs before their arrival in Malaysia. The payment can be made via online banking or credit card (AMEX, Visa & Mastercard).
There are basic and premium accommodation types available for selection. The basic package will be under the arrangement of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and based on their current list of quarantine hotels. For travellers who select the premium package, they are able to choose from the available hotel list.
All inbound travellers will be assigned to hotels in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor subject to availability. The maximum capacity per room is 2 adults and 1 child who is less than 6 years old.
Moreover, the screen test charges for Malaysian travellers are RM150 for PCR test, RM60 for RTK (Antigen) and RM30 for RTK (Antibody). The screen test fees for non-Malaysians on the other hand, are RM250, RM120 and RM60 respectively.
Malaysian travellers’ quarantine costs of normal accommodation for a total of 14 days are RM2100 for the first person, RM700 for the second person, and free of charge for the child below 6 years old.
Non-Malaysian travellers, however, need to pay for the same amount as Malaysian travellers, with additional charges of RM2600 per person (including child below 6 years old) as fixed operational costs.
